HR Business Partner NL & Nordics

Our client is searching for a HR Business Partner to join their EMEA HR team. Based in their new office in the Netherlands (Utrecht) the HRBP will be responsible for partnering with the business in our locations in the Netherlands and the Nordics (4), supporting a headcount of approximately 90 employees. As the business has gone through much organizational change in the last 18 months, the role will be initially focused on post company acquisition integration projects for example supporting organizational culture change, benefit consolidation projects, policy and procedure integration projects.

The successful candidate will feel the intrinsic motivation to understand our business and supports the business by providing innovative, practical, and strategic human resource solutions that support the overall company mission and goals. Along with post acquisition projects this person will be responsible for partnering with the talent acquisition team and the talent management team, policy administration, compensation and benefit programs in close cooperation with our Total Rewards team, communications programs, and employee relations activities in these countries.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Post Integration Strategic Projects: take the lead and actively participate in supporting organizational cultural change, benefit consolidation projects and policy and procedure integration for the Netherlands and the Nordics
  • Manage Recruitment for the region along with the business and the Talent Acquisition team; for example working on areas such as defining job descriptions, through our competency model creating success profiles for each role, and competency based interviewing
  • Work with the EMEA Talent Management team to deliver training and development programs and provide overall direction to ensure effective development of employees in country.
  • Provide guidance and training to supervisors and managers including policy interpretation and application and assistance with various employee relations issues.
  • Deliver training/onboarding in employee induction programmes and support new joiner integration into the business.
  • Maintain a favorable employee relations climate by counseling and advising employees and the business, developing and administering various employee relations activities, and promoting communications between employees and the business.
  • Conduct research into HR programs and activities and recommend changes or innovations where desirable.
  • Manage country benefit programs in cooperation with the total rewards team and local external benefit consultants; includes risk benefits, pensions and medical schemes.
  • Work with external payroll processing companies (5 local ones) to direct and administer monthly payroll
  • Work with company dashboards to produce and analyze HR metrics to provide valuable insight back to the business.
  • Other responsibilities as needed. This role may support projects for other countries in the NW Europe region as required, for example recruitment drives, benefit and compensation projects.
  • This role could be 32 hours – 40 hours per week and will require some travel between countries, approximately once per month. Trips will vary between 1-3 days a month

Related Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related curriculum and 5+ years of related experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch legislation and benefits is essential, knowledge of Nordics legislation and benefits would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working in a change environment is preferred.
  • Experience with standard project management concepts. Proven ability to complete projects on time, on budget and within scope.
  • Proven experience working through organization transformations is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and comfortable facilitating and presenting to groups.
  • Ability to understand and relate to customer needs and ability to work well with people in all levels of the organization and handle a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong focus on execution excellence, attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to drive multiple projects.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure, with multiple deliverables, in short time constraints.
  • Proactive in approach with proven problem-solving skills.
  • Solid experience in administering benefit schemes, payroll is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of MS office suite
